"Gimme My Bike! is a great local band. All band members were very personable and fun to work with. They provided the perfect mix of music entertainment for our "family" type crowd out at the ballpark!"

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers
Here's another recommendation from Marty Mares, the owner of "Marty's" in New London, WI that has hired us for over ten shows:
"Some bands connect to the crowd and some
don't... you guys get it. You put out a ton of energy and people pick
up on that".
Others have
said they like us because of our variety... That we aren't easy to
pigeon-hole, we aren't "impossibly loud" or an "angry attitude-band
where every song sounds like Creed or Metallica" etc. We do everything
from John Denver's "Leaving on a Jet Plane" to Elvis to Johnny Cash to Gordon Lightfoot... Throw in
a little Brown-Eyed Girl, some Buddy Holly and a few great originals... We range from alternative country-ish to straight up rock to punk. It's hard to put us in a box. You could call it obscure variety. You could occasionally call it punky 70's. We just call it a Gimme My Bike! show.
Here's an unsolicited review from freemusicspot.com:
"Here's a great band from Wisconsin. Their mix of odd lyrics and melodic rock make them very fun to listen to. There's also a ton of free MP3s at their site, a lot of which are from live performances. Very cool stuff."
...and here are some reviews of a couple songs we submitted to garageband.com.
(Only the good reviews are true; everyone else hates us because we are beautiful.)
the story...
In the changing world of music, styles come and go as fast as the mullet, but the high-energy rock-n-roll sounds of gimme my bike! are timeless.
Born from 1970s old-school punk, the band features the 5-string bass leads of Jimmy Senderhauf and the quirky song writing of Jeffrey Kranz. Their dynamic pop sound is grounded by the smooth and powerful rhythms of Scotty Peck on drums.
Formed in the dusty basements of Wisconsin, the boys take a cosmopolitan view of music. All three jam, but Jimmy does most of the jamming. All three write songs, but Jeff does most of the writing. All three sing, but Scotty has no vocal mic.
gimme my bike! is a lot more than your local rock-n-roll failure. This intense trio of slightly aging musicians never sounded better. This band gives live shows 110 percent and new music is always on tap. So if you are one of the many people who can't find enough good independent music check out gimme my bike! In our fast-paced MTV world of mass-produced cookie-cutter bands, gimme my bike! absolutely deserves a second listen.

logistics
We can fill four hours easily with material to spare. We usually play 45 minute sets and take a 10-15 minute break inbetween. We have all our own PA equipment. All we need is 110 volt AC
power (standard house current) and hopefully something solid to stand
on... and maybe a tarp over us if it's raining. We like to show up at least
1.5 hours or so beforehand to setup. We are a three piece and have fit in some pretty tight spots, so don't worry about it. We'll travel anywhere from way the hell up north down to Chicago and over to Madison for a good show. Email or call us for pricing. We aren't freakin famous, so expect a reasonable price. We're probably cheaper than a DJ, but more than having a clown come to your birthday party. Unless it's like some really famous clown or something...
reserve your date now!
gimme my what? Why the name? A long night, too much coffee... We believe it captures both the futility of dreaming up a band name that is deeply meaningful or symbolic, while also encapsulting the purity of childhood memories, innocence and... ah... bikes. Basically after days and weeks of coming up with new names, Jim blurted it out and it stuck. We want to play cool places in need original quirky punky poppy rock. We want to be screamed for, adored and pelted with cash. But, for now, we'll settle for a few good shows. Eclectic? We cover Glen Campbell, Devo, Gordon Lightfoot, Elvis and the Cure... and we make up our own stuff too. We have no idea how to explain what genre we are.

 - "Not Weezer. Not Green-Day. Not Blink182. The first non-sh*tty, non-rip off band I've heard in years. If they fit in a genre, they'd revolutionize it. But they don't, so tough sh*t."
~ Ted Regis - Ohio
